What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Electrical Foreman position at Nardone Electric?
Must hold a valid Rhode Island Journeyman Electrician's License
- Must have OSHA-30 certification or be willing to obtain before starting date.
- Supports and can facilitate the company’s policies on the job site.
- Exhibit professional appearance and conduct while performing assigned duties.
- Communicate with contractors, clients, other tradesmen, inspectors and vendors as necessary to maintain & grow customer relations.
- Works with the start time provided by the general contractor.
- Positive attitude and motivated to work in a team environment.
- Must be able to delegate tasks and communicate them clearly on the job to the team.
- Though tasks may be delegated, it is the Foreman’s responsibility that all tasks are completed neatly, are code-compliant, and in conformance with the project plans and specs.
- Supervises 5-15 workers. Including Journeymen and Apprentices.
- A Foreman is considered a mainly working foreman (with tools).
- Willingness to comply with all company safety guidelines, OSHA regulations and local codes.
- Able to lead by example, with a positive attitude and patience, in a team atmosphere.
- Mentor/coach/train electrical apprentices, and licensed team members.
- Knows and understands the scope of work within our contract.
- Is responsible for quality control on the project.
SAFETY
- Is responsible for enforcing & abiding by the company safety policies which includes, participating in weekly safety toolbox talks.
- Participate in required company safety training.
- Reports all safety concerns to the project manager and general foreman.
- Will do JHAs as necessary for the project.
PREFAB
- Must review job at the kickoff meeting with Project Manager and Prefab manager.
- Must participate in prefab planning discussions and planning throughout the project.
PLANNING AND SCHEDULING
- Keeps a clean and well-organized job site.
- Keeps a daily log of job progress.
- Work with the project manager to develop a project schedule in conjunction with the general contractor’s project schedule.
- Maintain a 3-week look ahead that can be shared with the customer.
- Keeps submittals & drawings organized and readily available on the job site.
- Keeps up to date As-Builts readily available on the job site.
- Does a bulk buy material take off for each phase of the project and reviews with the project manager and purchasing manager.
- Willing to use current technology. (iPad, Laptops, Company Phone and Email, Software, Apps)
- Works with the project manager to provide information for invoices and labor/material forecasting.
- Participate in regular weekly project meetings.
- Creates and closes out their own punch list near the completion of the project.
- Will produce written shutdown workplans.
- Generates RFI’s as necessary and sends them to the internal project team for review and submission to the client.
- Follows up with purchaser to ensure returns are picked up from the job site.
- Sends material orders that are accurate and complete and within the time requirements set forth by the purchasing manager.
TIMECARDS
- Submits weekly time sheets for all employees on the project in each week.
- Timecards must be submitted by Friday of each pay week.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to handle a workload of up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work in all elements such as cold, rain, snow, heat, etc.
- Continuous walking, standing, climbing, balancing, crouching, pulling, reaching and stooping is required.
- Must be able to perform work at various heights and be comfortable working from ladders, lifts, scaffolds, etc.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- Full-time, non-exempt position.
- Minimum 40 hours per week.
Supervisor Responsibility
- Responsible for leading/managing Journeyman Electricians, Apprentices and/or Co-op students based on scope for work to be completed.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High school or GED required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience.
Workplace Environment
Environmental & Working Conditions: This position works primarily in a construction space that may be exposed to all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow). The Foreman will work with staff, customers/general contractors and vendors.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance (If applicable)
Must pass a background check performed on all employees at time of employment and periodically during employment.
