Job Summary:
This position is responsible for food delivery to customers, ensuring excellent customer service for all deliveries, with an emphasis on the ensuring customers receive their food orders timely and professionally; delivered to company expectations while ensuring standards are maintained, policies and processes are followed.
Responsibilities, Duties & Accountabilities:
The core, critical and essential work duties, functions and responsibilities of the position are as follows:
- Primarily responsibility for timely delivering customer orders to their designated location (residential and commercial business customers), ensuring safety practices are followed, in a courteous and professional manner
- Works closely with co-workers assisting with preparing orders for accurate and quality food deliveries.
- Ensures timely and accurate deliveries to customers, learning their names and thanking them for choosing us.
- Provides exceptional service to customers, learning the names of regular customers and ensuring a professional and timely delivery to them.
- Performs cross-functional duties of co-workers for continuing service and coverage during absences
- Works closely with the kitchen to ensure only the highest quality food is delivered to customers
- Unloads incoming truck loads, assists in unloading, inventory and stocking of incoming supplies
- Courteously addresses with tact and professionalism all customer complaints, concerns and issues, and bringing to them to the attention of the management
- Maintains a clean and safe vehicle, removing trash routinely
- Drives safely and courteously at all times, following all laws and company policies
- Assists in re-stocking and replenishing of products and supplies
- Conducts routine inspections of restaurant and parking lots for cleanliness and exceptional appearance
- Maintains professional working relationships with co-workers, vendors and the general public
- Working with all management to address safety concerns and ensures overall safety of customers, coworkers and the general public
- Takes a proactive, positive and sincere interest in our customers, ensuring continuity of the company’s long-standing relationship with the community
- Complies with all company policies, standards and protocols, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Departmental Checklists and other required rules and practices
- Follows safety and security practices and protocols; and ensures these processes are timely, sufficiently and consistently followed; successfully completes and complies with all daily and other routine Departmental Checklists (Ex: Opening Checklist, Closing Checklist, Cleaning Checklist, etc.) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), adhering to these with the utmost attention to details related to cleanliness and safety
- Complies with all training (in-person, video, classes, etc.) and successfully participates in and completes/passes all required trainings; follows all Departmental Checklists and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
- Other projects and duties as assigned
Position Rules:
- The incumbent will abide by all state laws, including but not limited to:
- No texting while operating a motor vehicle
- No distracted driving
- No unauthorized individuals in vehicles
- No eating or smoking in the vehicle
- No personal use of vehicle and no personal stops or errands without prior management approval
- To maintain clean vehicle, free of refuse or rubbish
- Responsible handling of money and accurate, daily reconciliation of money due back to the store
- To immediately call law enforcement if a vehicular accident occurs, following law enforcement’s direction, then contacting management as soon after law enforcement is notified
Position Requirements and Qualifications:
- Must be Eighteen (18) Years of Age
- Valid, Current Driver’s License (No more than Four (4) Points on current State Driving Record)
- Work experience in vehicle deliveries service
- Maintains current knowledge of safe and healthy practices for food handling and preparation; and maintains the current required food handling permit, obtaining ServSafe Certification as directed
- Demonstrated knowledge of local driving area
- Demonstrated customer service experience working with the general public, and the ability to tactfully and professionally address public concerns and complaints
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with other employees, exercising tact and professionalism in all matters
- The following physical demands are requirements and must be met in order for the successful performance of the job position: This position requires the incumbent to speak, hear, see, sit and/or stand for long periods of time, walk frequently and use full reach and range of motion in arms, hands and fingers, with continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills, to bend, stoop, kneel, carry, push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to adhere to regular and routine attendance and to work evenings and/or week-ends and holidays
- Ability to maintain a satisfactory and required attendance, punctuality and ability to work flexible schedules
