Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring clarity and efficiency
- Serve food, beverages, and cocktails with professionalism, including spirits knowledge and cocktail preparation skills
- Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Process cash and credit transactions accurately while maintaining proper cash handling procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all service areas, including bussing tables and food safety compliance
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and address any guest concerns promptly
- Use reservation systems like OpenTable to manage bookings and optimize seating arrangements for maximum guest comfort
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in fine dining settings
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude
- Ability to multitask efficiently while managing time effectively during busy hours
- Basic math skills for processing sales transactions accurately
- Knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail mixing, and beverage service techniques
- Experience with food handling, sanitation standards, and food safety protocols
- Familiarity with upselling techniques to enhance sales and guest satisfaction
- Previous host/hostess or bussing experience is a plus but not required; a hospitality mindset is essential
