What are the responsibilities and job description for the Expedition Cruise Guide (Part-Time) position at Naples Zoo Inc?
The Expedition Guide must possess the ability to learn how to navigate a 32-foot catamaran through a primate-inhabited island system, narrating a 15-20 minute tour while offering insight into primate behavior and conservation. This person must be comfortable dealing with the general public and able to communicate in a personable way to large audiences. The guide is required to interact with individual guests as well, answering animal and nature related questions. Weekends are required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate catamarans safely through a lake within the zoo while giving tours of the primate-inhabited island system.
- Assist guests in safely boarding and de-boarding boats.
- Act as a source of information for guests in relation to cruise departure times, animals and zoo activities.
- Maintains cleanliness of dock, boats and zoo facilities.
- Enforces zoo rules and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION
Work is performed under the direction of the Park Operations Manager. Additional guidance is received through established policies and procedures, plus verbal and written communications.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Minimum 18 years old.
- Must be able to work as part of a team.
- Prior boat experience a plus.
- Must have the ability to work flexible hours, including weekdays, weekends, holidays and evenings.
