Job Summary

The System Pharmacy Buyer at Naples Comprehensive Health (NCH), is responsible for oversight of pharmaceutical purchasing for the healthcare system’s pharmacies. The Buyer stocks the pharmacies to meet the needs of patients; optimizes cost savings; ensures compliance with state and federal regulatory guidelines; assists pharmacy management with invoice reconciliation, inventory control and management, contract compliance, and purchases items at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity and required specifications. The Pharmacy Buyer also maintains the charge description master for the hospitals. This is an opportunity for a motivated and outgoing individual to be part of a growing and dynamic health system and pharmacy department. Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• The Pharmacy buyer participates on the NCH Pharmacy Drug Shortage task force.
• The buyer is expected to be proficient in using Microsoft Excel and navigating the websites of drug wholesalers and distributors.
• The pharmacy buyer will maintain optimal inventory levels through data-driven purchasing practices, reducing excess stock, carousel stockouts, and waste across the NCH health-system.
• The pharmacy buyer must collaborate with pharmacy leadership, clinical teams, and front-line staff to forecast trends, and properly communicate pertinent drug shortage information.
• The pharmacy buyer will monitor high-cost drug utilization and advise on cost saving opportunities when available. This position must understand how our contracts work with vendors and wholesalers.

Education, Experience And Qualifications

• Minimum of High School/GED.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Florida.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Licensed Pharmacy Technician required.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) within 90 days of hire.
• Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows
