Swim Team Head Coach

Overview

Under the general supervision of the Aquatics Manager, the Swim Team Head Coach is responsible for all swim team functions. This includes the supervision of the swim team participants and the coaching staff.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prepare swim practice workouts.
• Conduct swim practices in a safe, friendly and competitive environment.
• Prepare line-ups and heat sheets for swim meets.
• Complete required reports and records of the swim team participants.
• Manage work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing work, ensuring quality standards. Is responsible for training, staff. Model good sportsmanship
• Demonstrate and support District customer service standards.
• Record and communicate any difficult situations or behaviors to the Aquatics Manager.
• Maintain on-going open communication and notify Aquatics Manager of situations regarding the operation of the program.
• Inspect, inventory, and initiate requests for purchases and repairs of program equipment and supplies to the Aquatics Manager.
  
  

Other Duties And Responsibilities

• Communicate with the Swim Team Parent Board.
• Relay swim team information to the Centennial Beach Managers when necessary.
• Coordinate swim team statistics and swim meet information with the Swim Conference.
• Respond to all customer comments and inquiries in a timely fashion.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Excellent knowledge of proper training and swimmer development in all four competitive strokes.
• Ability to display professionalism with participants.
• Ability to address complaints and resolve concerns.
• Ability to multitask, organize, and maintain attention to detail. Ability to prioritize and handle a variety of different tasks at the same time.
  
  

Education And Experience

• Minimum two (2) years of coaching and competitive swimming experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  
  

Special Considerations

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Subject to both office and outside environmental conditions.
• Subject to modified/flexible work schedules.
• Prolonged standing.
• Regular onsite attendance is an essential function of this position.

Full Salary Range: $19.00/hr-$23.00/hr
