Under the direct supervision of the Food & Beverage Manager, the Concession Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the food and beverage services at the Paddleboat Quarry Rental and the Centennial Grill.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintain and supervise all daily operations of the facilities.
- Evaluate facility conditions and assist in the development, implementation, and review of facility operations.
- Manages work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing work to ensure quality standards. Is responsible for hiring, training and development of staff. Collaborates with the Food & Beverage Manager on the discipline and performance reviews for staff.
- Coordinate facility schedules to ensure appropriate staffing and setup for all at the Paddleboat Quarry Rental, and the Centennial Grill.
- Purchase products and supplies based off proper forecasting and food operation needs.
- Manage property and equipment including initiating work order requests and repairs.
- Maintain inventory of food and beverage supplies. Communicate and enforce inventory controls including spot checks on product counts.
- Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas.
- Ensure staff are properly preparing food and dispensing proper portion sizes.
- Maintain records and prepare reports.
- Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with residents, customers, vendors, and community partners.
- Address customer inquiries promptly and in a professional manner.
- Adhere to City of Naperville, State of Illinois, Illinois Department of Public Health, and DuPage Health department requirements.
- Demonstrate and support District customer service standards.
- Communicate budgetary requests, as needed.
- Cover Concession Shift Lead and Paddleboat Shift Lead shifts when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Skill in the operation of food preparation and management.
- Capacity to make decisions objectively based on customer service and fiscal constraint.
- Ability to multitask, organize, and maintain attention to detail. Ability to prioritize and handle a variety of different tasks at the same time.
- Knowledge and skill in budget preparation, financial management, and fiscal control.
- Working knowledge of basic computer software including point of sale systems.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in food operations or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Possession of, or the ability to obtain, Illinois Food Protection Manager Certification within one (1) month of hire.
- Possession of, or the ability to obtain, Allergen Training Program Certification within one (1) month of hire.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, First Aid, CPR, and AED certification within two (2) months of hire.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Subject to both office and outside environmental conditions.
- Subject to modified/flexible work schedules.
- Exposure to heat from appliances, smoke, steam, cleaning chemicals, food, and odors.
- Subject to modified/flexible work schedule including evenings, holidays, and weekends, as well as during the beginning of the school year.
- Ability to lift, carry, and/or move objects weighing ≤ 30 lbs on a daily basis. Lifting assistance is required when lifting > 30 lbs.
- Regular onsite attendance is an essential function of this position.
