What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business and Computer Teacher for Adult Education position at Napa Valley Adult Education?
Definition: Under the direction of the Career and Technical Education Supervisor, the instructor will provide instruction to adult business and computer students in Napa. Instructional duties may include:
- Instruction in Office Assistant Certificate program which includes: introduction to computers, keyboarding, filing, MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), Google Apps (docs, sheets and slides)
- Instruct students using a variety of learning tools: direct instruction, cooperative learning, Canvas, MindTap, and NorthStar Digital
- Instruct students in office responsibilities, communication, and professionalism
- Interact with students in a professional manner, offering constructive, encouraging, and timely feedback
- Make recommendations on curriculum, software, etc based on the labor market.
- Record and report daily attendance
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress
- Collaborate with other computer and CTE teachers
- Participate in department and school-wide meetings
Other duties as assigned Education and Experience:
- Verification of three (3) years of relevant work experience in a business/office environment
- Education and verification of skills in MS Office and Google Apps
- California teaching credential: K-12, Adult Education, or Designated Subjects credential, recommended, but may be obtained based on work experience. (to be discussed)
Pay Rate: $51.64/hour for step 1
Schedule: Daytime classes (Monday -Thursday, 9:00AM-12:00PM)
