Responsibilities
- Move and position trailers throughout the yard, including dock doors, staging areas, and trailer lots.
- Hook and unhook trailers safely and efficiently.
- Verify trailer numbers and locations using dock assignments and warehouse systems.
- Inspect trailers for damage, seal integrity, and safety concerns, reporting issues as needed.
- Monitor reefer fuel levels and support trailer readiness for operations.
- Maintain accurate records of trailer movements and yard inventory.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff, dispatch, and dock supervisors to support efficient operations.
- Perform routine inspections of yard equipment and report maintenance concerns promptly.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard environment.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license (Class C or equivalent) in good standing, CDL not required.
- Minimum 1 year of yard truck experience in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret dock assignments, trailer manifests, and yard maps.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to perform inspections and identify equipment issues.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
