POSITION SUMMARY
The Patient Care Coordinator supports prospective and established patients throughout the consultation, scheduling, and surgical coordination process. This position serves as a key patient contact and works closely with physicians, nurses, surgical staff, and the business office to support efficient daily operations and a positive patient experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide professional, courteous, and compassionate communication to prospective and established patients.
Respond promptly to calls and inquiries and provide accurate information regarding services, consultations, procedures, fees, scheduling, and practice processes within the scope of the position.
Schedule consultations, procedures, surgeries, and related appointments; maintain accurate daily surgical schedules and scheduling records.
Prepare and organize patient charts and required documents; identify missing information and notify the appropriate nurse, physician, or staff member.
Communicate add-on cases, cancellations, schedule changes, and other time-sensitive information to clinical and administrative team members.
Maintain accurate patient demographic, scheduling, and administrative information in the practice management and electronic medical record systems.
Coordinate with physicians, nurses, surgical staff, laboratories, and outside agencies to support efficient patient care and patient flow.Assist with laboratory/test result follow-up, routing of results, specimen transport coordination, and patient transfer or transportation needs as assigned.
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with practice policies, privacy requirements, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
Participate in staff meetings, training, competency activities, and quality improvement initiatives; perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required. One year of administrative, secretarial, medical office, or comparable customer service experience preferred. Medical terminology and experience in a medical, plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, or elective healthcare setting preferred. Current BLS certification if required for assigned patient-care responsibilities.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Works primarily in an outpatient healthcare and medical office environment with frequent patient, telephone, computer, scheduling-system, and electronic-record interaction. Must be able to work a flexible or variable schedule based on practice and surgical needs. Employee is expected to complete duties accurately and on time, maintain accurate schedules and records, communicate professionally, support efficient patient flow, demonstrate reliability and initiative, and consistently follow practice policies and confidentiality requirements.
Pay: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour
