- Greet customers warmly and identify their automotive parts needs through active listening and effective communication skills.
- Assist customers in locating parts using inventory management systems, including POS (Point of Sale) software, and provide product recommendations based on vehicle requirements.
- Manage inventory control by stocking shelves, conducting stock checks, and ensuring accurate order fulfillment to maintain optimal product availability.
- Engage in automotive diagnostics to better understand customer issues and suggest appropriate parts or solutions.
- Negotiate sales terms with customers, upsell compatible products, and handle cash handling with precision to ensure smooth transactions.
- Maintain organized records of sales transactions, inventory levels, and customer interactions using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) or other digital tools.
- Collaborate with the service team to support vehicle maintenance and repair operations by providing timely parts support.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical details clearly to diverse customers; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
- Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, and automotive repair processes to better assist customers.
- Proficiency in inventory management, POS systems, Microsoft Excel, retail math, and order fulfillment processes.
- Experience with dealership or retail sales management, inventory control, cashiering, and marketing strategies.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage stock levels efficiently and prioritize tasks effectively in a busy environment.
- Familiarity with automotive service standards and dealership experience is advantageous.
- Ability to demonstrate negotiation skills while maintaining excellent customer service standards; phone etiquette is essential for engaging with clients over the phone.
