Part-Time Medical Assistant (Japanese-Speaking Required)

Naoko Matsumoto, M.D. Pediatrics is a pediatric clinic in Torrance, California, providing high-quality pediatric care in both Japanese and English. We care for infants, children, and adolescents in a warm, family-centered environment.

We are currently seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to join our team.

Schedule

• Part-time (3–4 days per week)
• Afternoon availability is required
• Clinic hours: 9:00 AM -Noon, 2:00 PM – 5:30 PM, MON-FRI
  (Patient appointments end at 5:00 PM. Work may finish before 5:30 PM, depending on the day's schedule.)

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care and examinations
• Administer injections, medications, obtain vital signs, and perform basic laboratory testing
• Maintain electronic medical records (EMR)
• Provide front desk coverage as needed
• Communicate with patients and families
• Coordinate with laboratories, pharmacies, and insurance companies (depending on English proficiency)

Qualifications

• Fluent Japanese is required to communicate with Japanese-speaking patients and families.
• Conversational English required
• Medical Assistant experience preferred
• A nursing license (Japan or U.S.) is a plus, but not required
• Friendly, compassionate, dependable, and motivated
• Enjoy working with infants and children
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (OPT applicants are not eligible)
