Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Meat Cutter to join our team. The ideal candidate MUST have experience in food production, food preparation, and meat cutting, with a strong focus on food safety and customer service. This role involves preparing high-quality meat products, ensuring proper packaging, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The Meat Cutter plays a vital role in delivering excellent service and quality products to our customers, supporting the overall success of our food industry operations.
Responsibilities
- Cut, trim, and prepare various types of red meat, chicken, pork and other types, according to specified standards and customer preferences
- Ensure all meat products are properly packaged for sale or distribution
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations and equipment in compliance with food safety regulations
- Handle meat products with proper food handling techniques to prevent contamination
- Assist in inventory management by rotating stock and notifying supervisors of low supplies
- Follow all safety procedures when operating knives and other cutting tools
- Support food preparation activities as needed to meet production deadlines
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about products and offering recommendations when required
Skills
- Proven experience in meat cutting, food production, or related culinary fields
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in meat trimming and portioning
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with packaging meat products efficiently and hygienically
- Background in food industry operations or restaurant experience is preferred
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure product quality and safety
- Good communication skills for teamwork and customer interactions
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
