Overview
The Extrusion Manager is responsible for managing, directing work activities, advising team members, and to ensure team has everything needed to achieve departmental goals. Ensure Assistant Managers and Shift Supervisors lead in accordance with established manufacturing policies and procedures to ensure production demands are met.
Job Responsibilities
- Establishes, promotes, and drives a safety-first culture in the extrusion department
- Boosts quality excellence utilizing existing standards & implementing improvements
- Drives production efficiencies by meeting on time deliveries, first run success, and extruding to schedule
- Ensure personnel and staffing are balanced to meet production needs
- Determines improvement projects used to expand production capabilities
- Maintains strict adherence to quality and efficiency
- Outlines objectives and goals and completes employee performance evaluations
- Motivates and requires cross-training of personnel to further develop their skills for long term success
- Defines succession plans within the extrusion department
- Performs other required tasks as assigned
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business or Management or related field preferred
- Prefer 10-15 years’ experience working in the Aluminum Extrusion Industry
- Minimum of 4–6 years’ management experience within the Aluminum Extrusion Industry
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles (Six Sigma)
- Aluminum Extrusion tool and die knowledge a plus
- Proficiency use of Microsoft Suite (Excell-Work- PowerPoint)
- Highly detail-oriented
- Master of conflict resolution, open to new ideas and change implementation
- Servant leadership style of management and development of others to achieve results
- Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
- Proven strong analytical and problem-solving skills
