As a Print Shop Operator, you will be responsible for operating our state-of-the-art digital presses and wide-format printers, managing print queues, performing quality control checks, and handling various finishing tasks. Key Responsibilities
- Print Production: Set up, operate, and maintain digital printing presses (e.g., Konica Minolta, Ricoh, Xerox) and wide-format inkjet printers (e.g., HP, Epson, Canon).
- Job Management: Receive and interpret job orders, manage the print queue to prioritize jobs, and ensure all production deadlines are met.
- Quality Control: Conduct rigorous quality checks on all print jobs for color accuracy, registration, clarity, and finishing, ensuring they meet company and client standards before release.
- Finishing & Bindery: Perform a variety of finishing tasks, including cutting, binding (coil, comb, wire-o), laminating, folding, scoring, and mounting.
- File Preparation: Perform basic pre-flight checks and make minor adjustments to customer files using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) to ensure they are print-ready.
- Inventory & Maintenance: Monitor and maintain inventory of paper, ink, toner, and other printing supplies. Perform routine operator maintenance and cleaning on all equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Customer Service: Occasionally interact with clients to understand their needs and provide excellent service (if applicable to your shop).
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1 years of professional experience operating digital presses or wide-format printers in a print shop or production environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for color and quality.
- Ability to read and understand complex job tickets and instructions.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office and print-ready PDFs.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move up to 50 lbs.
Preferred (Not Required, but a plus):
- Experience with offset printing.
- Graphic design skills or proficiency with the full Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Knowledge of mailing and variable data printing (VDP).
- Experience with Fiery or other print controller software.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
