Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated IHSS (In-Home Support Services) Caregiver to provide essential care and support to clients in their homes. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs and reporting any changes or concerns promptly
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary requirements and assist with meal consumption as needed
- Support patients with medication administration following care plans and HIPAA privacy standards
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning, laundry, and organization tasks
- Utilize patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques to ensure safe mobility
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with home health and hospice care protocols
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or in senior care environments preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and emergency response procedures including CPR and first aid
- Familiarity with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, and assisted living settings is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely while adhering to safety standards
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and documentation
- Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is a plus
- Valid certifications in first aid, CPR, or nursing are advantageous but not mandatory
