Fitness Attendant

Under direction of Fitness Center Management, executes and ensures daily operations are performed as per established polices & practices. Ensures facilities remain clean and the staff promotes a friendly atmosphere while assisting patrons with questions and equipment needs. Provides superb customer service to military and civilian patrons.

Responsibilities

• Ensure fitness center rules, regulations and safety practices are properly enforced.
• Ensure security and accountability of equipment and property.
• Ensure cleanliness/serviceability of equipment.
• Maintain accurate event/facility attendance records for programs and equipment.
• Handle telephone inquiries, greet visitors, and provide information as needed.
• Assist with special events within the department.
• Performs other related duties as required.
• Accepts reservations, collects fees and checks-out equipment.
• May prepare individual exercise records including measuring and patrons exercise objectives.
• Demonstrates proper use of equipment. May monitor exercise areas, sauna, steams rooms, and dressing areas to ensure compliance with facility rules.
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Valid driver's license.
• Customer service experience, preferably in a fitness center type environment.
• Must be available to work any/all shifts as needed (Shifts vary early AM-late PM).
• Must be willing to work on holidays.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
• Work is primarily performed indoors, however may be outdoors to support various sports events and functions.
