Job Description
The Dishwasher position performs a variety of cleaning, stocking, dishwashing, and minor food preparation duties in a commercial kitchen located within a commercial kitchen in a restaurant setting.
This position will support the Qavartarvik Customer Lodge in Bethel, AK.
Responsibilities
- Disposes of trash in assigned receptacles.
- Cleans various carts and trash receptacles.
- Stocks storage areas with incoming products.
- Washes objects by hand or with cleaning equipment.
- Cleans dishes, utensils, pots, pans etc. and places in assigned storage areas in an organized and orderly manner.
- Cleans, sweeps, wipes down, etc. all general dining, kitchen, or storage areas (in some cases), and equipment as well as all floors.
- Assists with various periodic and scheduled cleaning projects.
- May serve on the line to support food service production.
- May assist manager with inventory counting.
- Keep clean dish area clean at all times.
- Helps maintain clean dining room, tables, and chairs.
- Follows dress code according to department.
- Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success may also be assigned.
Qualifications
- The ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, callouts, etc.
- Food Handler card, Alaska Food Workers card, or ServSafe certification within 30 days of employment.
- Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
- This contract requires a flu shot to be administered pre-hire and annually thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Some prior experience or training which demonstrates knowledge of cleaning equipment/processes or a suitability for and interest in this type of work, preferred.
