What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grade Crew/Laborer/Operator position at Nampa Paving and Asphalt?
We are looking for a dependable, hardworking Grade Crew Laborer to join our construction team. This is a hands-on field position working alongside equipment operators and other crew members to prepare and finish grade for roadway, site development, and other heavy civil construction projects

Responsibilities
- Perform hand grading using shovels, rakes, and other hand tools
- Assist with preparing subgrade, base material, slopes, and other graded surfaces
- Set and remove grade stakes, string lines, markers, and other grade controls
- Assist with checking elevations and grades using grade rods, laser levels, measuring tapes, and related tools
- Shovel, rake, spread, level, and compact dirt, gravel, and aggregate
- Operate hand tools, power tools, compactors, and other small construction equipment
- Assist equipment operators during grading and earthwork activities
- Signal and spot equipment operators when needed
- Load, unload, move, and organize materials, tools, and equipment
- Assist with site preparation, cleanup, and maintaining safe work areas
- Perform basic cleaning and care of tools and equipment
- Follow established safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment
- Work safely around heavy equipment, trucks, and active construction operations
