JOB SUMMARY:The Electrical Design Engineer will conceptualize, develop, and refine the electrical control systems that support the production and testing of munitions. The Electrical Design Engineer will work closely with Design engineers and Electrical Controls engineers to ensure the equipment meets all the technical requirements.

- Design, Develop, and Layout all Electrical Panels for new and existing equipment. Including specifying all components that are used and assuring those components meet all safety and electrical requirements.
- Document all new and existing equipment panel layouts, electrical schematics, and pneumatic schematics utilizing AutoCAD Electrical 2024.
- Experience in Arc-flash hazard analysis / calculations.
- Experience in designing and specifying the electrical panels and components that meet hazardous location wiring codes.
- Ensure that equipment is installed and maintained in conformance with current codes and regulations.
- Recommend improvements to new and existing equipment to optimize the production process and determine corrective actions.
- Serve as primary point of contact for all electrical controls related troubleshooting.
- Determine preventative maintenance actions and provide supporting documentation to maintenance.
- Collaborate with the maintenance and operational groups on preventative maintenance, machine repair, predictive maintenance, equipment performance, and design improvements.
- Maintain good employee relations, and adhere to our Affirmative Action Plan, Labor laws and EEOC rules and regulations.
- Maintain adherence to Company policies and procedures, safety and environmental standards, and good housekeeping practices.

- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or combination of education and 5 years work experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment providing technical support to fully automated, semi-automated and manual processes.
- Familiar with PLC/HMI programming (Preferably Emerson PAC Machine Edition Version 10).
- Strong fundamental knowledge of control and electrical system design and its application in automated industrial designs including specification of vision, power, sensor, inspection, and communications systems.
- Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical Version 2024.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite.
- Familiar with Cognex vision cameras.
- Ability to create and troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic schematics.
- Ability to program and troubleshoot VFDs, servo actuators and robots.
- Ability to read and follow mechanical drawings.
- Ability to balance multiple projects at one time.
- Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) within an industrial environment.
- Familiarity with Process Safety Management (PSM) plans or equivalent.
- Self-starter, ability to work independently and handle multiple projects timely and efficiently; meeting specified deadlines.
- Good communication skills, both oral and written.
- Must submit to and pass a drug test pursuant to Company Drug-Free Workplace Policy which includes random testing.
- Must have good vision (may be corrected).
- Must be able to communicate written and verbally.
- Must be able to stand/walk/sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to travel.
- Must have stamina to work more than the scheduled workday when needed, including nights and weekends.
