Nammo Perry is a center of excellence for the design, development and production of munitions and pyrotechnic products for the U.S. Department of Defense. Nammo employees working at the Florida site manufacture all types of 40mm low and high velocity ammunition; pyrotechnic marking; signaling and tactical illumination devices; battlefield effects training simulators; demolition charges; hand grenade fuzes; and other ammunition components. Additionally, they provide load, assemble, and pack (LAP) services for large caliber direct-fire ammunition.

The Facility Technician  will provide general mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, & HVAC skills required to perform daily facility tasks. These tasks include, but are not limited to PMs, work orders, and facility projects. Will require working with on-site equipment and vehicles.

Schedule: Monday - Thursday 6:00AM - 4:30PM

Physical Requirements:

1.       Must submit to and pass a drug test pursuant to Company Drug-Free Workplace Policy which includes random testing

2.       Must have good vision (may be corrected)

3.       Must have no known hearing loss

4.       Must be able to sit/stand/walk for prolonged periods of time

5.       Must be able to endure sunshine and weather extremes

6.       Must be able to endure fumes that are within OSHA accepted standards

7.       Must have stamina to work more than the scheduled workday when needed; including nights and weekends

8.       Manual dexterity

9.       The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (<85 dBA), however in some instances this job may require work in areas where ear protection is necessary

Knowledge & Skills:

1.)    Able to identify energy sources on equipment and use lockout tagout to properly isolate equipment.

2.)    Able to coordinate with safety department to obtain green tag when necessary.

3.)    Able to identify when a hot-work permit is needed and coordinate with safety department to obtain a permit.

4.)    Able to use maintenance CMMS system to properly create, document and close out work orders. This includes entering asset, time and description of work completed.

5.)    Able to use maintenance CMMS system to access PM documentation and close out PM work orders with properly documented time and notes.

6.)    Able to assess a job and identify the proper tools & material necessary to complete the job.

7.)    Able to operate forklift and pass onsite forklift training.

8.)     Able to assist on PM’s and Parts changing as needed.

9.)     Able to adequately complete plant PM’s as necessary with little to no supervision.

10.)  Able to work with a trainer and take instruction.

11.)  Able to follow all plant safety policy and have a safe work record.

12.) Have good interpersonal skills

13.) Able to resolve issues on their own.

14.)  Able to troubleshoot basic HVAC & plumbing issues.   

15.)  Able to install new fixtures as necessary (plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, etc.)

16.)  Ability to assess plant condition and complete unassigned tasks as needed.

17.)  Have a safe work record.

18.)  Able to perform other duties as assigned.

19.)  Must understand mechanical concepts and be able to assist maintenance mechanics
