JOB OVERVIEW:
Collaborates with suppliers on activities to improve product Quality and Delivery Performance. This includes ensuring conforming product and compliant documentation. Provides guidance on NDS purchase order flow down requirements regarding the acceptance of product and processes to ensure that drawings, specifications and customer expectations will be met at all stages of product development.
- Coordinates with Nammo Talley’s Supply Chain and suppliers regarding the disposition and processing of discrepant material.
- Interface with Buyers and Product Quality Engineers on supplier selections and evaluations.
- Conduct supplier quality system and focused process audits.
- Work closely with Suppliers to complete comprehensive Investigations and Root Cause Corrective Actions.
- Collaborates with Engineering, Operations and Program Management to ensure that delivery schedules are maintained with quality supplied products in support of the companies operating plan.
- Develops product inspection plans for use by the supply base to support the acceptance of received shipments.
- Review and approve FAIRs (AS 9102) if required.
- Other Duties as assigned.
This position requires daily autonomous decision-making capabilities when working with both internal and external customers.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Must possess a thorough understanding of process control, sample selection and measurement systems.
- BS Degree in Engineering or Business or equivalent verifiable experience and skills.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in project or supplier quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with AS9100 / ISO 9000 quality management systems, corrective and preventative action, CDRLs. NDT and MIL-STD-1916.
- Ability to obtain ATF approval to work with our products.
Preferred:
- Background in energetic materials would be a distinguishing factor.
- ASQ Certification is desirable.
- Excellent oral and written communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to incorporate customer and product requirements into quality assurance systems and documents (control plans, SPC, Acceptance tests).
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Full-time on-site position
- This position may require travel on an as-need basis.
- This role may involve working in diverse settings and conditions.
