JOB OVERVIEW:
The Production Planner I will be responsible for planning and scheduling company products to meet our customer contract orders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Basic understanding of production processes, good organizational skills, and proficiency with ERP systems.
- Plan and develop detailed schedules, material requirement lists, production plans and spread sheets for high volume product line and one-time products.
- Provides input regarding problems such as shortages, design changes and backlog.
- Maintains appropriate paperwork and schedule reports.
- Review product bill of material (BOM), job planning and master schedule.
- Interfaces with procurement, engineering, manufacturing, quality control and product line management to achieve optimum utilization of facility resources in meeting production schedules.
- Input plans and schedule workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times into the master scheduler.
- Prepare lists of required materials and chemicals.
- In conjunction with manufacturing engineering and operations, plans sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers.
- Release manufacturing work orders in accordance with production schedule and coordinates with the logistics department to ensure materials are delivered prior to the start of scheduled production
- Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects.
- Expedite operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
- Prepare flow charts and spreadsheets.
- Release hardware and chemical procurement requisitions to Purchasing and other duties as assigned.
- Strictly adhere to all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- 0-2 years with BA/BS or 2-3 years of relevant experience
- Ability to obtain ATF approval to work with our products.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing activities, purchasing, materials, production process and engineering.
- Read/understand and interpret subcontract statements of work, production forecasts and mechanical blueprints.
Preferred:
- Preferably a member of APICS
- BA/BS degree in Supply Chain Management or related Business study
COMPETENCIES:
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficient in MRP systems and basic computer skills i.e. Project, Info Power, MS Office, Excel, Power Point, Word, email, and internet for research.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments.
- Leadership or teamwork abilities.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Full-time position, may require travel on an as-needed basis
- This position may require working in diverse settings and conditions.
