Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of material handling equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks, to efficiently load, unload, and move products within the warehouse. Your expertise will ensure smooth warehouse operations, accurate inventory management, and safe handling of goods. Duties
- Operate forklift trucks, reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, and other material handling equipment in accordance with OSHA safety protocols and company policies.
- Load and unload shipments accurately using barcode scanning technology and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Pick and prepare orders with precision, ensuring correct items and quantities are selected for shipment or storage.
- Conduct routine inspections and basic repairs on equipment to maintain optimal performance and safety.
- Manage inventory levels by organizing stock in designated areas, conducting cycle counts, and updating warehouse distribution records.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying inbound/outbound shipments and ensuring proper documentation.
- Follow manual handling procedures for heavy lifting tasks to prevent injuries and promote safety in all warehouse activities.
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, Hi-Lo lifts, and other heavy equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning for logistics, and inventory control processes.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards including OSHA regulations and forklift safety protocols.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations related to weights, measurements, and inventory counts.
- Skilled in materials handling techniques such as manual handling and heavy lifting while maintaining safety standards.
- Experience with shipping & receiving procedures within a distribution or warehouse environment.
- Familiarity with equipment repair basics to troubleshoot minor issues promptly.
