Duties
- Operate a variety of forklifts including reach trucks, lift trucks, Hi-Lo, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and manual handling equipment to load, unload, and transport materials safely within the warehouse.
- Manage inventory using warehouse management systems (WMS) and barcode scanning tools to ensure accurate stock levels and order fulfillment.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders efficiently using order picker equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities by verifying shipments against documentation and ensuring proper storage.
- Conduct routine maintenance and mechanical inspections on forklifts and other material handling equipment to ensure operational safety and efficiency.
- Follow OSHA regulations, forklift safety protocols, and safety standards in production environments to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Support warehouse distribution tasks by organizing stock locations, performing manual handling tasks, heavy lifting, and load & unload operations with precision.
Skills
- Proven experience operating reach trucks, forklift types (including Hi-Lo), clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and manual handling tools.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management practices, and barcode scanning for logistics.
- Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures, order picking techniques, and warehouse distribution processes.
- Mechanical knowledge for basic equipment repair and troubleshooting forklift issues.
- Understanding of warehouse safety standards such as OSHA regulations and forklift safety protocols.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper manual handling techniques.
- Basic math skills for inventory counting, measurements, and documentation accuracy.
- Previous experience in warehouse supervision or materials handling roles is a plus.
