Position Summary:
The Facilities Manager oversees the maintenance, safety, and operational functionality of all school facilities across Davenport and Valrico campuses. This role combines hands-on facility support with supervisory oversight, ensuring that all buildings are safe, fully operational, and well-maintained to support daily school operations.
The Facilities Manager supervises the Facilities Coordinators and facilities staff while also actively participating in troubleshooting, repairs, and on-site problem-solving as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilities Maintenance
Oversee daily facility operations across multiple campuses
Perform and support hands-on maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting
Conduct regular facility walkthroughs to identify and resolve issues proactively
Ensure all buildings are safe, clean, and fully operational
Respond promptly to urgent facility issues and emergencies
Leadership & Supervision
Supervise, coach, and evaluate the Facilities Coordinator and facilities team
Establish clear priorities, expectations, and accountability standards
Ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks and work orders
Provide hands-on leadership and direct support when needed
Systems & Preventative Maintenance
Implement and oversee preventative maintenance programs
Monitor HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security, and building systems
Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections
Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations
Oversee campus safety protocols and emergency readiness
Address facility-related safety concerns immediately
Qualifications
5 years of experience in facilities management, maintenance, or operations
Prior supervisory experience required
Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to perform hands-on repairs and troubleshooting
Experience managing multiple sites preferred (school environment a plus)
Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills
