Mid-Level BI Developer

Overview

Nakupuna Prime is looking for a BI Developer to serve as the expert for analytics and presentation layers, transforming complex integrated data into intuitive, actionable visualizations to support leadership decision-making and self-service analytics. This is a mid-level role expected to execute independently on defined work and partner with senior technical staff on complex deliverables. This effort supports the United States Naval Community College (USNCC).

• Design, develop, and deploy interactive reports and dashboards using Salesforce CRM Analytics, Power BI, and Tableau Cloud.
• Integrate, transform, and validate data from Salesforce Education Cloud, flat files, and AWS Redshift/PostgreSQL to construct unified analytical datasets.
• Develop and maintain advanced formulas, expressions, and calculated fields within BI tools to support complex reporting needs.
• Implement validation checks at the presentation layer to ensure reporting is accurate, consistent, and traceable to source data prior to release.
• Optimize dashboard loading times and refresh schedules to sustain responsive end-user interaction.
• Ensure dashboards are 508-compliant and meet usability and accessibility expectations.
  
  

Qualifications

Qualification/Skills:

• Hands-on experience building and maintaining dashboards and reports in Salesforce CRM Analytics, Power BI, and/or Tableau.
• Working knowledge of data modeling concepts and KPI definitions; ability to translate business needs into analytics requirements.
• Proficiency in SQL to validate and troubleshoot data used in dashboards and reports.
• Ability to perform presentation-layer validation and reconcile reporting outputs to source systems.
• Knowledge of 508 compliance principles and ability to apply accessibility best practices.
  
  

Education and Experience: This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related quantitative field. The following are desirable levels of experience:

• 5 years of BI/Visualization development experience
• Proficiency in Salesforce Education Cloud, Tableau, and Power BI
• Strong SQL skills and experience with AWS Redshift/PostgreSQL
• Ability to create 508-compliant visualizations
• Experience collaborating with data engineering and analytics teams in an enterprise environment
  
  

Military Installation Access and Security Clearance: This position requires access to military installations. Must be able to qualify for and obtain base access and pass a background check. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Location: This position is hybrid. Work will be done on site at least three (3) days a week in Arlington, VA. Remote candidates will be considered. Occasional travel may be required.

Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:
