Senior Design Engineer

Skills and Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain strong and positive working relationships with clients, public agency personnel and in-house professional peers.
• Manage multiple and concurrent project designs.
• Communicate project requirements to team members.
• Management of project design, including daily assignments of work, review of work, and quality control.
• Prepare grading and public improvement plans from conceptual design to entitlements to final construction documents to permitting.
• Prepare technical reports/studies of project deliverables (performs advanced to expert computations and/or analysis).
• If Licensed, signing and stamping plans/drawings and technical reports (project based).
• Technical knowledge in multi-discipline projects and design.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Mentoring and training staff and serving as a resource to less experienced staff members.
• Coordinate staff resources with the Project Manager of the project and/or Staff Lead Engineer.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Complete large projects independently, without much guidance, using critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to explain and teach standard process to design, develop, document, review.
• Land Development experience.
• Stormwater and hydrology experience preferred.
• Federal experience preferred.

Experience:

• Min. 6 years of engineering experience

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college (ABET)
• PE License in CA preferred
