Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and deliver engaging curriculum for phlebotomy technician training programs, incorporating current best practices and industry standards.
- Provide instruction in Haitian Creole and English to support student learning and understanding.
- Conduct classroom lectures and practical demonstrations on topics such as medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, laboratory procedures, specimen collection, infection control, and patient care techniques.
- Supervise students during clinical practice sessions in simulated or real healthcare settings, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Evaluate student performance through assessments, skill demonstrations, and documentation review to ensure competency before completion of the program.
- Incorporate learning technology tools and educational resources to facilitate learning and track student progress.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students, fostering professional growth, confidence, and readiness for healthcare employment.
- Collaborate with curriculum development teams to enhance course content and maintain program quality.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance evaluations, and training documentation in compliance with program requirements.
- Stay current with industry trends, laboratory advancements, and healthcare regulations affecting phlebotomy practice.
Experience
- Proven teaching experience in healthcare, medical training, or adult education settings preferred.
- Previous experience supervising students in clinical or laboratory environments preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, phlebotomy procedures, infection control, and patient care practices.
- Must be fluent in Haitian Creole and English.
- Ability to effectively teach and communicate complex technical skills to diverse learners.
- Experience developing curriculum or educational materials preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
