Naik is a New York-New Jersey engineering services firm which specializes in engineering design, field inspection, and Project Management/Construction Management, primarily in the transportation infrastructure industry.ResponsibilitiesManage design, construction, and delivery of environmental projects in accordance with client procedures and guidelinesRecommend construction sequencing, means, and methods in a railroad operating environmentOversee client Force Account and third-party contractor work; integrate schedules with track outages and foul timePerform field inspections and daily monitoring to ensure compliance with contract documents, approved work plans, shop drawings, safety and quality plans, and client proceduresValidate and monitor contractor and Force Account invoices based on work progressPrepare Initial and Updated Baseline Documents, technical scopes of work, and regulatory correspondenceSchedule, lead, and document progress meetings with contractors, designers, and regulatory agenciesReview design documents and shop drawings; coordinate reviews with client Engineering, Corporate Safety, and internal stakeholdersResolve field issues and unforeseen conditions in coordination with the Project ManagerReview cost estimates, contractor proposals, and participate in change order negotiationsManage and report on project scope, budget, schedule, safety, quality, inspections, testing, and acceptanceQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field5–10 years of experience managing environmental design and construction projects.Hands-on experience with:Soil remediation (organic and inorganic contaminants)Air monitoringWaste handling plansWell installationsUnderground storage tank (UST) removalsRemediation system installationExperience working in a railroad environment; knowledge of railroad engineering standards and specificationsDirect regulatory agency coordination experience (EPA, NYSDEC, NYSDOH)Experience developing technical scopes of workExperience managing project budgets and schedulesStrong project management, communication, coordination, negotiation, and multitasking skillsKnowledge of OSHA and construction/environmental remediation safety standardsPE and/or CCM certification preferred (not required)Roadway Worker Protection (RWP) trainingOSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety TrainingOSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER with current 8-Hour refresher (maintained throughout contract)Must be willing and able to travel throughout New York State as project needs dictate.Valid driver’s license requiredBenefitsNaik offers a competitive compensation package including: Holiday and paid-time-off programs401(k) Plan and Match Career Path Development Program (Management & Technical Career Tracks)Tuition ReimbursementCompetitive health and dental insurance premiums Short-Term Disability/Long-Term DisabilityLife insuranceEmployee Assistant Program (EAP)Flexible Spending Accountand MoreNaik is a Drug and Alcohol-Free workplace, an Equal Employment Opportunity employer and E-Verify employer.We are committed to pay transparency and fairness in hiring.
