Job Description:
The Financial Regulatory Services a division of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has an exciting opportunity for a Life & Health Financial Analyst. This position provides indirect support to the Financial Analysis Working Group and the Financial Analysis Solvency Tools Working Group. The position would be responsible for analytical review of financial statements of potentially troubled insurance companies and drafting analyses of the findings. The position will require some technical acumen that would include creating, maintaining, and updating financial solvency tools (both public and private). The position would require a general knowledge of statutory financial statements.
This is a full-time hybrid position, in a positive and flexible environment. Residency within 100 miles of the [enter office location] office is required.
Responsibilities Include
Minimum Education and/or Experience Required
Bachelor's Degree (accounting, finance or business preferred)
Preferred Experience
Minimum of one to three years of finance, accounting, or analytical related experience
Tableau, and Basic SQL querying
Systems & Technology Requirements
Microsoft Office Suite/365
Compensation
$50,297 up to $70,000, commensurate with education and experience.

Responsibilities Include
- Interprets and analyzes annual and quarterly insurer financial statements and all related supplemental financial filings and other non-financial information (including, but not limited to audited financial reports, actuarial opinions, management's discussion & analysis, SEC filings, financial application reports).
- Assesses the financial condition of assigned insurers and groups and provides recommendations to management on those that exhibit characteristics of trending toward or being financially troubled.
- Compose well-written insurer and group analytical reports that summarize solvency related results/findings.
- Updates, and tests quarterly and annual financial analysis solvency tools.
- Provides input on the design and development of financial analysis dashboards using Tableau and assists in the development of the dashboards.
- Maintains specifications and calculation spreadsheets for financial applications and solvency tools.
- Assists Information Technology Group (ITG) staff in interpreting solvency tool specifications.
