Director/Executive Director, Office of Community Enrichment Employer Truman State University Location Kirksville, Missouri Salary Annual salary range is $55,000-$75,000 commensurate with experience. Closing date Apr 10, 2026 Job Details The Director/Executive Director of the Office of Community Enrichment provides visionary and strategic leadership to cultivate a campus environment grounded in belonging, inclusion, harmony, and holistic student success. This position leads a centralized office that integrates student engagement, community-building initiatives, and international student support to strengthen campus climate and foster meaningful connection across the university. The Executive Director also serves as the university’s Principal Designated School Official (PDSO), overseeing F-1 visa compliance and supporting international students throughout their academic and post-graduation journeys. Through cross-campus collaboration and data-informed decision-making, this role advances institutional capacity to support students while enriching the broader campus community. Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic direction for campus-wide initiatives that promote belonging, connection, and community enrichment aligned with the university’s mission and strategic priorities. Cultivate a campus climate that supports harmony, mutual respect, and shared responsibility for student success. Serve as a key advisor to university leadership on matters related to campus climate, student engagement, and inclusive community development. Collaborate closely with Title IX and Student Conduct offices to mitigate conflict, ensure student safety, and promote advocacy and restorative practices. Use assessment and data analytics to evaluate student engagement initiatives, informing continuous improvement and institutional decision-making. Lead and assess programs that support student belonging and engagement, including initiatives for international students, first-generation students, and other student communities. Oversee signature programs such as mentorship opportunities, orientation experiences, cultural and community-building events, and leadership development initiatives. Advise and mentor student organizations that promote civic engagement, global learning, and collaborative leadership. Serve as Principal Designated School Official (PDSO), ensuring institutional compliance with federal F-1 regulations and SEVIS reporting. Develop sustainable systems that streamline international student advising, onboarding, and post-graduation processes. Lead international student orientation, cultural transition programming, and ongoing support initiatives in partnership with campus stakeholders. Supervise professional staff and student employees; provide leadership, mentorship, and performance oversight. Manage budgets, resources, and operational planning to ensure effective and sustainable program delivery. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree Three or more years of experience working in higher education leadership Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, allocate resources, and oversee operational processes. Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives that support student engagement, belonging, and campus or community climate. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in higher education administration, student affairs, public administration, social work, international education, or a related field. Experience serving as a Designated School Official (DSO) or Principal Designated School Official (PDSO). Familiarity with federal regulations related to international education (e.g., SEVIS, F-1 compliance). Experience developing and delivering workshops, trainings, or educational programs for diverse audiences. Comfort working with ambiguity and building systems, processes, or offices with evolving needs.
