Hiring Salary: $4,182.12 - $5,854.96/Monthly
JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the Direction of the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, the Student Support Coordinator supports nursing students in all tracks of the BSN program.
Responsibilities
- Follows evidence-based methods to improve student success and retention.
- Develops and implements comprehensive student success and retention plans for undergraduate nursing students.
- Manages complex student cases involving academic, financial, personal, psychosocial, and progression-related barriers
- Provides tutoring on the spot/just in time as needed.
- Collaborates with faculty to identify student readiness and student needs to promote student success.
- Assists in development of student’s acquisition of professional nurse role identity.
- Provides adjunctive workshops to facilitate student socialization into the profession and student acquisition of professional nursing skills.
- Participates in pre-nursing advising and recruitment efforts.
- Maintains data on efforts and outcomes of individual students and the overall success of programming effectiveness.
- Provides regular reports to leadership on outcomes and progress of strategies.
- Shares strategies, innovations and outcomes related to student success and retention with stakeholders.
- Supports accreditation reporting and data collection related to student outcomes, progression, and retention metrics
- Develop policies and procedures and operational workflows related to student support services.
- Performs other duties and special projects, as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in nursing. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
LICENSE: Registered Nurse, unencumbered, active.
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of relevant experience; OR a combination of college coursework and related work experience to equal six (6) years. (Previous higher education professional nursing experience is preferred.)
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Candidates must have current knowledge of higher education academic practices and knowledge of resources needed by students.
- Current knowledge of nursing standards of practice.
- Demonstrate clear and effective communication skills.
- Ability to build rapport with students, internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to effectively connect students to external resources.
