About Riff Music School

At Riff Music School, we’re redefining music education. Our mission is to make lessons fun-first, song-driven, and inspiring for students of all ages. From private lessons to group classes, band programs, recording studio sessions, and summer camps, we create opportunities for every student to find confidence, creativity, and community through music.

The Role

Riff Music School is seeking a friendly, organized, and student-focused Student Coordinator to support our growing community of young musicians and families. This part-time role is essential to helping our school run smoothly during peak lesson times and ensuring every family who walks through our doors feels welcomed, supported, and confident in their musical journey.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, communicates clearly, is organized, and takes pride in helping create a warm and positive environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow with a company that is making a meaningful difference in the lives of students and families. Key responsibilities include:

• Greet students and families with warmth and professionalism; help create a welcoming, supportive studio environment.
• Assist with lesson scheduling, rescheduling, and coordinating teacher availability using Riff’s scheduling software.
• Follow up with new inquiries and guide families through the onboarding process.
• Communicate with students, parents, and teachers in person, over the phone, and via email / text.
• Manage daily front-desk duties, including answering questions and providing information to parents/students.
• Prepare lesson rooms, band rooms, and class spaces as needed.
• Help maintain clean, organized, and attractive school facilities.
• Support teachers and supervisors with administrative tasks and special projects.
• Use computer systems for scheduling, messaging, updating student records, and daily operations.
• Represent Riff with kindness, patience, and professionalism.

Job Type: Part-time (20-25 hours per week, primarily afternoon/evening hours during peak lesson times plus weekend shifts)

Requirements

QualificationsRequired:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Basic computer proficiency (email, calendars, basic software tools)
• Comfort using phones and interacting with families face-to-face
• Ability to stay organized and handle multiple tasks at once
• Willingness to learn and follow the “Riff Way” of customer service and operations
• Ability to complete a background check
  
  

Preferred But Not Required

• Previous customer service experience
• Experience in an educational, artistic, or community-focused environment
• Interest in music, or willingness to learn about musical programs and terminology
