Responsibilities
Pre-Health Recruitment, Outreach, and Yield Partner with the VP of Admissions & Marketing and the Senior Director of Admissions to develop a pre-health recruitment strategy that considers the unique ways prospective students interested in pre-health programs search for undergraduate programs and what factors into their selection process. Partner with the VP of Admissions & Marketing, the Senior Director of Admissions, and Marketing leadership to develop pre-health specific marketing and communication strategies and materials. Partner with the Director of Recruitment to define how overall recruitment within counselor territories and travel intersect with and support pre-health recruitment, ensuring training on pre-health programs is provided to all counselors. Execute recruitment activities for pre-health programs, including representing the university at pre-health-related recruitment events, hosting on-campus and virtual events, conducting information sessions, and conducting targeted outreach. Serve as a subject-matter resource for prospective students and families seeking information about pre-health programs and pathways. Support yield initiatives for admitted pre-health students through targeted outreach, events, and follow-up communication. Academic & Campus Partnerships Maintain current knowledge of all pre-health curricular programs, pathways, experiential learning opportunities, and outcomes. Partner with pre-health advising, graduate programs, the registrar’s office, graduate admissions, and other campus partners to clarify existing and develop new UNE UG to graduate pathways and define how to ensure prospective students understand the values of these opportunities. Collaborate with the Colleges to understand accelerated program experiences and requirements, informing the definition of ideal prospective students and how best to optimize enrollment. Work closely with pre-health advising, graduate programs, and graduate admissions to define a clear and compelling GradVantage program. Coordinate with program faculty, pre-health advisors, and other campus stakeholders to support recruitment programming, student communications, and event participation. Application Review & Admissions Decisions Partner with the Senior Director of Admissions and Academic Leadership to maintain current pre-health admission criteria and policies. Review applications and make admissions decisions in accordance with program requirements and institutional policies. Manage the Nursing Committee and maintain the Nursing waitlist, when applicable. Visit and Event Collaboration Partner with the Senior Assistant Director for Campus Visits & Events to design and support pre-health-specific visit experiences (e.g., pre-health visit days, lab tours, faculty sessions), coordinate with UNECOM’s AORTA Program, and oversee content development for pre-health events. Participate in on-campus and virtual events supporting yield and enrollment, such as open houses, admitted student programs, and yield events. Ensure accurate and engaging pre-health experience and messaging. Data Tracking & Reporting Ensure Slate CRM is utilized to support recruitment and enrollment success. Partner with the Senior Director and the Associate Director of Admission Analytics to prepare queries and reports needed to inform pre-health recruitment & reporting. Leverage Slate CRM to review routine reports related to inquiries, applications, admits, and deposits to identify challenges or opportunities in territories and other enrollment strategies and communicate recommendations to the Senior Director. Additional Responsibilities Assist in leading the Undergraduate Admission team - including supervisory responsibilities for 1 or more admissions counselors. Participate in admissions staff training related to pre-health pathways and messaging. Assist with special projects aligned with the undergraduate pre-health enrollment strategy. Serve as a visible representative of the institution to prospective students, families, and school partners. Support general admissions operations during peak recruitment and review periods. Assist the Senior Director with department administrative tasks and functions, including development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of operating policies, procedures, forms, systems; staff hiring, training, and supervision; preparation of regular and special reports; and the like. Confer regularly with supervisor, other Admissions staff, and various UNE administrators and faculty to plan, coordinate, and evaluate activities/projects/systems, consult on specific applications, exchange information, investigate and resolve problems, and the like.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience in undergraduate admissions, recruitment, or a related role in a healthcare setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been acquired. Experience with CRM systems such as Slate or Salesforce. Experience working with pre-health or STEM -focused student populations. Demonstrated experience supervising or mentoring staff. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment in decision-making. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to travel as required, lift and transport recruitment materials up to 30 pounds, and work extended hours during peak recruitment periods (typically fall and spring). Preferred Qualifications Experience collaborating with science or health-related academic departments. Familiarity with pre-health advising structures and health professions pathways.
