- Ph.D. in Political Science (or a closely related field) by time of appointment.
- Evidence of high-quality scholarship or strong potential for publication in leading peer-reviewed journals of political science and international relations.
- Ability to teach effectively at the graduate and undergraduate levels, including core courses in international relations.
The Department of Political Science at the University of Florida invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in International Relations, to begin in August 2026. This is a broad search seeking scholars of exceptional promise in any area of IR.
Expected Salary
$83,000 - $88,000 Commensurate with qualification and experience, and the compensation includes a full benefits package.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Political Science (or a closely related field) by time of appointment.
- Evidence of high-quality scholarship or strong potential for publication in leading peer-reviewed journals of political science and international relations.
- Ability to teach effectively at the graduate and undergraduate levels, including core courses in international relations.
We are especially interested in candidates whose work engages with International Organizations, International Institutions and International Relations theory, but scholars in all IR research areas are encouraged to apply. We particularly encourage applications from scholars whose work combines strong theoretical contributions with rigorous empirical analysis and engages broader debates in international politics.
