Position Summary:
We are currently exploring candidates for Individual Support Specialist caring individual to provide daily living support to adults with Developmental and Intellectual needs living in individual apartment settings. Positions available in Waterbury.
Responsibilities Include:

Provide daily living support to adults with DD/ID.

Assess client skill levels and counsel clients in independent living, coping strategies, pro-social and interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, and navigating peer pressure.

Demonstrate the ability to set and adhere to limits.

Role model strong interpersonal skills, pro-social behaviors, and professional responsibility within the community.

Provide safe transportation for clients as necessary.

Prepare meals and assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills daily.

Prepare summaries of interactions and behavioral observations of clients at the end of each shift.

Participate in staff training, staff meetings, and maintain DDS-required certifications.

Perform crisis prevention and interventions, including de-escalation techniques, as needed.
Desired Qualifications:

High School Diploma required.

Experience with DD/MR population required.

Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Must have Vehicle with Registration/Insurance
- Valid Driver's License
