Bilingual Therapist - Adolescents with Problem Sexual Behavior

NAFI Connecticut provides programs, consultation, and support services in a variety of settings across Connecticut, New York and Rhode Island. We are currently seeking a passionate Therapist (Bilingual in Spanish) to deliver intensive community-based treatment for Youth with Problem Sexual Behavior. Youth are referred to MST PSB from DCF, Juvenile Probation, Mental Health Agencies and Schools. The MST PSB Therapist provides support to the family through creating safety plans, moving through phases of treatment to hold youth accountable for reason for referral, and provides psychoeducation on sexual boundaries and other sexual education topics. The MST PSB Therapist receives training in the MST model as well as the PSB adaptation.  As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a profound impact while benefiting from specialized training and ongoing individual and group supervision. Therapists at NAFI CT operate within a collaborative framework, conducting sessions primarily in-person within natural environments such as homes or safe locations. 

MST PSB (Multisystemic Therapy for Problematic Sexual Behaviors) is an evidence-based treatment model, therapists would meet with families for 3x/week for 5 months to 7 months at a time. Therapists can expect approximately 12 sessions weekly. Referral behaviors consist of youth who have an identified victim or are at high risk of becoming a victim of human trafficking. Parents are taught skills to improve their skill set around monitoring and improve their confidence in communication skills to create an environment for youth to disclose the events that led up to the reason for referral, to hold youth accountable while also holding space to believe youth can change.

Responsibilities Include:

• A candidate that has experience collaborating with referral sources and identifies with a positive, strength focused outlook are two strengths that would be beneficial within the role of MST PSB Therapist
• Therapists are able to have a flexible schedule to achieve work-life balance
• Therapists are to work around caregiver work schedules; regular evening availability is essential
• Therapists have autonomy in structuring their workday once they have a full case load, outside of agency meetings, trainings, and events with the team
• Therapists provide services across multiple regions with (Agency Vehicle): including Manchester, Middletown, Willimantic, and Norwich 
• Time management to meet with families 3x/week (a total of 12 sessions weekly)
• Manage communication with school, DCF, Juvenile Probation, or other community agencies - Phone On-call 1 week every 7 to 10 weeks 
• Participate in ongoing individual and group supervision to support professional growth
• Attend trainings in PSB Treatment 
• Document utilizing our Electronic Health Record within a timely manner
• Technology proficiency needed to manage Outlook calendar and write client reports

Desired Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Social Work
• An active CT licensure is required: LPCA/LPC, LMFTA/LMFT, LMSW/LCSW
• Bilingual English / Spanish

Salary: $73,000.00 / per year
