Position Summary

The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, espresso drinks, and other beverages while providing excellent customer service. This role ensures a welcoming atmosphere, maintains cleanliness, and supports daily café operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesBeverage Preparation

• Prepare espresso-based drinks (latte, cappuccino, americano, etc.) according to recipes and standards
• Steam milk properly and create quality foam and latte art when possible
• Prepare tea, cold beverages, and specialty drinks
• Maintain consistency, speed, and presentation

Customer Service

• Greet customers warmly and take accurate orders
• Answer questions about menu items and make recommendations
• Provide friendly, professional, and efficient service
• Handle customer concerns calmly and professionally

Cash Handling

• Operate POS system accurately
• Process cash, credit card, and digital payments
• Balance register and follow cash handling procedures

Cleanliness & Organization

• Keep espresso bar, equipment, and workspace clean and organized
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards
• Clean machines, counters, and utensils regularly
• Restock supplies as needed

Team Support

• Work collaboratively with team members
• Assist with opening and closing duties
• Support pastry and food service when needed
• Maintain a positive team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (milk cartons, supplies)
• Ability to work mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
