Job Description
Conducts behavioral health evaluations to determine most appropriate treatment for adult patients starting at age 18 years, who have graduated high school and older.
- Conduct initial biopsychosocial assessments for patients seeking acute behavioral health services to determine need for treatment of behavioral issues.
- Complete and analyze evidenced based screening tools and assessments.
- Provides individual and group counseling for patients.
- Along with patientcare, develop treatment plans, including clear problem statement, treatment goal(s), with measurable, relevant objectives for a range of behavioral health concerns.
- Manage caseloads comprised of moderate to high acuity patients.
- Able to conduct multiple psycho-educational, therapeutic and skills groups and individual therapy services.
- Collaborate with other mental health and educational professionals to coordinate care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient documentation records.
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team to evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay current on best practices in the field of behavioral health.
- Complete all mandatory AHS trainings and competencies as assigned.
Required -
- Master's degree in social work, Psychology or Counseling
- LSW Required. LCSW or LPC license highly pref.
- Previous higher level of care clinical/counseling experience with adult population
- Bilingual a plus
- Demonstrates ability to conduct biopsychosocial assessments, screens effectively for suicide and violence risk as well as abuse and neglect.
- Training and experience in Didactic Behavioral and/or Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy preferred.
- Ability to multi - task, organize & prioritize workload required.
- Ability to work within a team as well as independently to make complex decision making with high degree of accuracy.
- Develops individualized treatment plans with measurable, patient centered goals, utilizes evidence based therapeutic approaches appropriate to the presenting problem(s).
- Can build rapport and trust quickly with a range of patients, uses active listening skills, reflective statements and nonjudgemental language, conveys understanding and acceptance without reinforcing maladaptive behaviors.
- Maintains clear, timely and accurate clinical notes that meet legal and departmental standards, manages caseload effectively.
