Cardiac Rehabilitation Technician
POSITION SUMMARY
The Cardiac Rehabilitation Technician plays a vital role in the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in a cardiac rehabilitation setting. This position is responsible for supporting clinical operations by performing both administrative and direct patient care duties in a collaborative, professional manner. The individual ensures a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients, families, and staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Answer telephone calls professionally; take accurate messages and route appropriately.
Greet and direct visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
Assist patients to the bathroom as needed, ensuring safety and dignity.
Take and document vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation) before, during, and after exercise sessions.
Communicate any incomplete duties to the team leader or charge nurse before leaving the shift.
Ensure exercise equipment is clean and orderly; restock water and complete the daily equipment log each morning.
Collaborate with nurses, physicians, exercise physiologists, and dietitians to support patient-centered care plans.
Perform Accu-Check glucose testing and report results to appropriate clinical staff.
Welcome patients warmly; verify and collect additional information as needed.
Participate in development and improvement of cardiac rehab protocols based on patient outcomes and feedback.
Respond to medical emergencies in accordance with BLS (Basic Life Support) protocols.
Safely transport patients; ensure all documentation/charts accompany them.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and vision of the hospital.

Complete required training, competencies, and education by set deadlines.
Maintain regular attendance; be punctual and attend departmental meetings.
Follow all safety guidelines; report incidents by the end of the business day.

Maintain databases and files related to patient referrals.
Participate in quality improvement processes and patient satisfaction initiatives.
Capture and enter data into reports and tracking systems accurately.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Previous patient care experience preferred
Experience in a healthcare or medical setting
Preferred: Microsoft Office certification (Word, Excel, Access)
BLS (CPR) certification required
