The 6th Grade Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality instruction aligned with state standards while supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional development during the transition to middle school. The teacher creates a structured, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that fosters curiosity, responsibility, and critical thinking.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with state and district curriculum standards
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic and developmental needs of students
- Assess student progress using formative and summative assessments and adjust instruction accordingly
- Establish and maintain a positive, structured, and respectful classroom environment
- Integrate technology and instructional strategies to enhance learning
- Support students’ social-emotional growth and executive functioning skills
- Collaborate with grade-level teams, specialists, and support staff
