PRIMARY FUNCTION: Create proposal concepts and processes for robotic system applications (mig
welding, spot welding, machine tending, material handling, etc.) and provide accurate job cost estimates
and final quotes for customers.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBLITIES:
1. Generate detailed quotations for robotic automation systems (mig welding, spot welding, machine
tending, press tending, palletizing), robots, and overhaul estimates
2. Create comprehensive cost estimates and final deliverable quote documents
3. Interact with suppliers to acquire cost and basic technical specification of ancillary equipment
when needed to complete robotics quotes
4. Incorporate reach studies, system layouts, time studies and process sequences in proposals
5. Work closely with sales and engineering to clarify scope and content on a regular basis
6. Present and review finished quotes with sales and customer as required
7. Visit customer facilities for line up to gather information when required
8. Create budgets from cost estimate for project
9. Completes many short-term special projects
10. Review internal project kickoff packages and customer purchase orders for correctness
11. Grasp general understanding of Terms and Conditions and their application in automation
contracts
12. Working with ERP software to create and extract project cost information
13. Organize and maintain proposal data to ensure smooth transition at the time of order intake
Requirements:
1. Associate degree in a business related field or equivalent experience required, bachelor degree
preferred
2. Computer literacy in Microsoft Office products and technical software, including AutoCAD
3. Minimum three years of experience in a costing and/or proposal role
4. Minimum three years of training or equivalent experience in engineering design
5. Ability to read mechanical prints as well as a familiarity with GD&T practices
6. Basic knowledge of controls systems
Physical Requirements: Work is performed in an office environment with an occasional visit to a
plant, which may include hazardous equipment and chemicals.
