Lead Biogas Field Service Technician

Lead Biogas Field Service Technicians operate and perform routine maintenance and repairs on anaerobic digestion and natural gas processing equipment as well as assisting on miscellaneous operational and administrative duties. Technicians spend the majority of their time working closely with Nacelle’s customers to ensure Nacelle’s value proposition is realized by our customers. An unrelenting focus on safety for all activities is paramount. With a customer-centric focus, the Lead Biogas Field Service Technician must possess a strong capacity for attention to detail and a sense of urgency for both the customer and Nacelle to meet and exceed operational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Independently and safely operate and maintain on-site natural gas and anaerobic digestion equipment
  • Follow all Nacelle and customer safety policies and procedures
  • Communicate with customer and other customer contractors to maximize performance of equipment and operations
  • Follow proper start-up, shut-down, and monitoring programs
  • Ensure proper operation of equipment by assisting in any preventative maintenance (PM) programs or needed repairs
  • Perform administrative functions related to unit operation and maintenance
  • Routinely communicate with Operations Manager / Director of Operations
  • Perform general housekeeping duties and be familiar with Nacelle’s HAZOP and Spill Prevention Plans
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Prepare daily work tasks and schedules for the respective facility in conjunction with regional management and communicate these tasks to the rest of the Field Service Technicians (FSTs) on site.
  • Establish daily or weekly meetings with FSTs to plan the general work and any scheduled PM’s that will need to be done throughout the day/week. Work with other Lead FSTs to establish this schedule prior to meeting with the rest of the team.

Items that would be considered “Administrative Duties”, but not limited to:

  • Work with Warehouse and Procurement Team to accurately record parts used from inventory, parts needed for special projects, consumables, etc, and general organization of warehouse. Assist in inventory checks and reconciliations
  • Schedule and modify work for week in conjunction with regional management and other Lead FSTs
  • Prepare accurate daily reports of work completed for the day and send to the appropriate distribution reporting list as identified by management at the end of each day. (Mon – Fri)
  • Train newer employees on the use of company communications, record keeping, and data entry

Qualifications

o RNG Processing Equipment knowledge and experience a plus

o Gas Compression and Conditioning Equipment experience preferred

o PLC / HMI Knowledge and Troubleshooting experience preferred

o Manure Handling Equipment Operations and Repairs experience a plus

o Anaerobic Digester Operations experience a plus

o Equipment Operation experience, including but not limited to, front-end loader, all-terrain forklift, and various types of personnel lifting equipment

o Basic Electrical knowledge and minor troubleshooting a plus

o Mechanical ability, prior experience with dairy related equipment preferred

o Must be self-directed and possess the ability to perform duties with little to no supervision

o Represent Nacelle in a professional manner at all times, to the client, the host farm and its owners and employees, vendors, contractors, any gov’t agencies that you may interact with

o Responsive and respectful to fellow employees and management

o High School Diploma or G.E.D.

o Computer skills including some PLC and HMI controls

o Ability to read and interpret P&ID’s and other construction and fabrication drawings

o Willing to be on-call with rotating schedule (regular attendance and punctuality a must)

o Microsoft Office Suite skills a plus

o Scheduling and record-keeping skills

o First Aid / CPR Trained, or willing to be certified within 6 months

o Ability to pass customer, company, and regulatory safety and operator qualification programs

o Possess a valid driver's license and meet company insurability requirements

o Required to successfully complete a background check and drug screening prior to being hired

o This is a safety sensitive position subject to random drug testing throughout employment

Work Environment

  • Must be available to work all shifts and schedules
  • Work in all climate conditions
  • Available for emergency call outs
  • Travel may be required
  • Heavy lifting required

Regularly required to:

  • Talk and hear; verbally express ideas, information, and instructions
  • Have the ability to work around loud to moderate noise
  • Climb stairs and ladders
  • Lift, pull, push, or carry up to fifty (50) pounds

Occasionally required to:

  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Stand/walk for long periods of time without a break
  • Remain seated in a normal position for up to half the workday

Miscellaneous:

  • May be required to work in all kinds of weather
  • May be required to work all shifts and schedules
  • May be required to participate and qualify for a variety of safety training programs

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 - $29.00 per hour
