Quality Assurance Manager

The Quality Manager is responsible for administering the company’s quality program in accordance with the customer and company requirements.

Essential Skills & Functions

· Direct the efficient administration of the department, and carry out the management responsibilities of planning, controlling, leading subordinates, and reporting.

· Development and maintenance of quality programs systems, processes and procedures that ensure compliance with internal and external standards and guidelines.

· Serve as a point of contact for external parties regarding matters concerning the quality system.

· Oversee implementation of calibration systems for inspection and process testing procedures/equipment used in manufacturing operations in accordance with applicable standards.

· Responsible for

· Schedule and manage activities related to the coordinate measuring machine (CMM), including training.

· Conduct and oversee inspection requirements at First Article, In-Process, Incoming & Final Inspection levels.

· Provides feedback to machine shop and engineering for adjustments as required

· Serve as a point of contact for external parties regarding matters concerning calibration.

· Oversee raw and cured material testing including material evaluations.

· Provide day-to-day oversight of the quality department and quality personnel.

· Assess and evaluate deficiencies and devise improvements.

· Prepare end item data packages for delivery with products, as stipulated in the contract. This includes certificates of conformance, material certifications, testing certifications, and so forth.

· Ensure timely delivery of products to customers while maintaining product quality.

· Oversee schedules and workflow within the quality department.

· Monitor the quality of work being performed.

· Stay informed about the overall internal and external activities of the Quality Department.

· Identify areas of concern and implement corrective actions.

· Carry out additional responsibilities as directed by the Management Team.

· Keep records and documentation organized.

· Work a complete 8-hour shift.

· Ensure attendance and punctuality to follow a strict schedule.

· Maintain good departmental housekeeping for safe and efficient operations.

· Understand and follow all safety related standards and practice.

· Ability to read, speak and write in English.

· Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Notes: Each employee will be trained to perform all of the above tasks.

Physical Demands

• Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and adjust body position to climb, bend, stoop, squat, crawl, kneel, walk, turn, pivot, push, pull, reach overhead and stand for 8 or more hours a day.
• Must be able to walk or stand on level surfaces for extended periods of time.
• Must display excellent time management skills, be able to work with little or no supervision and communicate regularly.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures indoor/outdoor, depending upon season.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Annual testing is required.
• Ability to hear well, naturally or corrected.
• Work in manufacturing environment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, typically 7:30am – 4:00pm. However, Evenings, Overtime and Saturday may be required to meet the business demand.

Work Environment

Working environment may include indoor and outdoor areas and will require constant vigilance and care.

Exposure to solvents.
