Job description
Ascend Ministries' Naaman Center has an opening for a full time Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) at our Lebanon, PA location. Benefits are provided for full time employees.
Certified Recovery Specialist certification from PA certification board required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Recovery Planning -- facilitate (via personal coaching) the transition from a professionally directed service plan to a self-directed Recovery Plan. The goal should be to transition from professionally assisted recovery initiation to personally directed, community supported recovery maintenance.
2. Promote self-advocacy by assisting recovering persons to have their voices fully heard; their needs, goals and objectives established as the focal point of rehabilitation and clinical services.
3. Actively identify and support linkages to community resources (communities of recovery, educational, vocational, social, cultural, spiritual resources, mutual self- help groups, professional services, etc.) that support the recovering person’s goals and interests.
4. Support connections to community based, mutual self-help groups. Link individuals to appropriate professional resources when needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in human service-related field or demonstrated relevant experience with drug/alcohol recovery. Licensing and/or credentialing in the addiction field preferred.
- Current recovery specialist certification
- Experience with community engagement and outreach, program development and implementation.
- Pennsylvania Criminal Record Check, The Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance and FBI Criminal History Background Check required.
- Ideal candidates are comfortable with the Christian mission and values of the organization, and with working in a ministry.
- If in recovery, 2 years sobriety
