Behavioral Health Counselor

This is a full-time position in which the employee is responsible for providing assessment and counseling services to individuals, groups, couples and families. Remote work may be an option as allowable by contract.
Competencies:
1. Conduct screening and comprehensive assessments on all referrals.
2. Guide clients in developing effective treatment plans and implementing these plans.
3. Provide ongoing assessment of strengths and needs throughout the treatment relationship.
4. Complete progress reports and discharge reports for clients as required.
5. Document assessments, plans and all program services in client files as required by policy and regulation.
6. Provide individual, family and group counseling and/or education to clients, couples, and families.
7. Conduct crisis intervention for clients.
8. Complete client referrals to coordinate services with medical and other service providers.
9. Advise program staff on community resources for treatment and support.
10. Serve as a consultant for case managers in developing service plans.
11. Participate in the Crosspoint training program as a presenter as requested.
12. Provides community education and attends internal and external meetings and workgroups as assigned.
13. Participate as required in the production of program management and status reports.
14. Performs other tasks as may be assigned.

Experience Required

Education & Experience: Licensure as an LCSW, LCDC, LCDC-I, LPC or LPC-Associate in the state of Texas, or elsewhere with a reciprocal agreement. LCDC & LCDC-I applicants without a degree require paid experience.

Salary

$42,000 - $60,000 depending on education, experience & licensure
