Telecommunications Advanced Specialist

Skills / Experience Required

• Ability to solder, crimp, compression, and punch-down connections for audio, video, network, control, and power devices
• Proficient understanding of cable media: ability to distinguish coax, mini-Hi- Res, copper, multi-conductor, CAT-5, and Fiber Optic Cabling
• Proficient understanding of Cable Handling: ability to maintain proper cable pull technique
• Track and Field Termination: ability to maintain uniform cable dressing and secure system connections
• Able to mount AV equipment such as wall displays and speakers
• Knowledgeable to Crestron and FORD control systems, audio consoles, power amplifiers, digital signal processors, video matrix switchers, video scalers, PC interfaces, computer controls and digital video record
• Troubleshooting AV systems
• Knowledgeable in loading code and system configurations.
• Able to read and understand schematic
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
• Audiovisual ( A/V ) experience
• Cisco Bridge
• Experience integrating Microsoft Teams and Zoom conferencing software into 3rd party apps
• Healthcare experience, including Crestron and FORD (highly desired)
• Enterprise video conferencing and event production/support experience
• Microsoft Windows
• Active Directory
• SCCM
• Microsoft Office (native) and Office 365
• Dell and HP hardware
• HP Network Printers
• PXE Boot knowledge
• Citrix Thin/Thick/Zero client experience
• SharePoint (documentation)
• Ticketing system experience

Education / Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering degree or degree in Mathematics or Engineering
• 8 years’ experience needed
• Minimum of 20 hours annually/required to maintain certificates, if needed

Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense (DoD) active security clearance may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and may include lifting thirty pounds, as necessary.
