Job Title: Senior Surgical Technologist
Location: Detroit, MI 48236
Duration: 13 Weeks with a possible extension
Schedule: 6am-2:30pm, 6am-4:30pm, or 6am-6:30pmThere is an option for five 8's, four 10's, or three 12's with a 6am start time. 48 hours of call in a 6-week schedule period required.
Local Pay Range: $55 - $60/Hour on W2
Travel Pay Range: $2300 - 2500/Week (4x10 = 40 Hours/week)
Duties:
- Under direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse and Surgical Team members, responsible for the handling of surgical instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during general to moderately complex surgical procedures.
- Ensures understanding of the assigned surgical procedures being performed and anticipates the needs of the assigned surgeon and surgical team members.
- Also provides service support related to patient preparation, patient transport, and assisting surgical care team with specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs.
- Responds to emergent situations according to established procedures.
Experience:
- Current BLS certification required or become BLS certified within one month of start date.
- Surgical Technologist certification required or 3-5 years of experience supporting complex high acuity surgical volume, as defined above, in lieu of a certification.
Education:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
- Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program
- Specific knowledge of surgical procedures within the operating room (OR), in addition to knowledge of surgical procedures, practices and techniques in providing patient care and assisting surgeons in the O.R.
