Job Overview
We are seeking dedicated Lead and Assistant Teachers (English & Bilingual), to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will provide leadership in classroom management, curriculum development, and individualized instruction to support the diverse needs of children, including those with developmental disabilities. The Lead Teacher will collaborate with staff, families, and specialists to implement effective teaching strategies aligned with best practices in early intervention, literacy education, and behavioral health.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to students' individual needs, including those with autism, disabilities, or in early childhood stages.
- Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment through effective behavior management techniques.
- Utilize classroom management skills to organize activities that promote social-emotional development, literacy, math, physical education, and other core subjects.
- Incorporate learning technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and educational outcomes.
- Collaborate with speech therapists, behavioral therapists, and other specialists to support students' IEP goals and developmental progress.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Lead curriculum development efforts that align with state standards, Montessori principles, or specialized programs such as preschool or daycare settings.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to assistant teachers or interns while maintaining compliance with child welfare regulations.
- Engage with families to communicate student progress and coordinate early intervention strategies when necessary.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
Experience
- No experience in a childcare center required. However, experience with children is "preferred". Willing to train on the job.
- Or, proven experience working with children in early childhood education or preschool settings.
- Strong background in special education, including experience working with children with autism, developmental disabilities, or in deaf education.
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation, behavior management strategies, and behavioral health practices.
- Experience utilizing learning technology tools for instruction and assessment purposes.
- Prior classroom management experience demonstrating leadership qualities in a school or daycare environment.
- Knowledge of curriculum development across various educational frameworks such as Montessori or traditional methods.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with families, staff, and external specialists.
- Experience working with children who have diverse needs related to literacy education, physical education, or early intervention programs is highly desirable.
